In response to increasing demand for cruises on the Mekong, CroisiEurope has launched a new ship, the RV Indochine II, which will be inaugurated this month in Phnom Penh.
The RV Indochine II measures 63m long and 13m wide and has a 1.6m reduced draft that allows it to cruise further than other ships on the Tonle Sap Lake.
The ship can accommodate 62 guests in 31 cabins measuring 22m 2with 4m2 private balconies.
Its 120m2 restaurant is located at the stern while the 110m2 panoramic lounge bar is at the bow. Both have large windows and lead to an atrium.
An outside bar and lounge sit alongside the pool on the upper deck. On the main deck is a treatment room where guests can have massages.
There is a multi-lingual crew of 29. The interior of the ship reflects the French colonial era and contemporary trends.
The RV Indochine II was inspired by the style of the rich commercial fleets cruising on the Mekong – curved, wide, low vessels with outside decks covered in exotic wood and the wheelhouse at the top of the bow of the ship.
As with CroisiEurope’s four other ships on the Mekong, the RV Indochine II will cruise in both directions between Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City on nine-day itineraries from August to April.
