Adding to its resort portfolio, Hilton has entered into a franchise agreement with Singha Estate Public Company Limited (Singha Estate PCL) to open the first Curio Collection in the Maldives.

The upcoming Curio Collection property is part of CROSSROADS project – the first-ever integrated leisure and entertainment resort destination, currently under development in Emboodhoo Lagoon and the largest tourism development project in the Maldives.

The Curio Collection Maldives resort will be managed by S Hotels & Resorts, a subsidiary of Singha Estate PCL, and is scheduled to open by the end of 2018.

“Opening the first Curio Collection hotel in the Maldives is a very exciting milestone for us,” said Mark Nogal, global brand head, Curio Collection by Hilton. “The Maldives is renowned for being a one-of-a-kind tropical paradise and we are confident that the resort will offer curious travellers seeking an authentic experience truly memorable accommodations.”

In addition, guests will have convenient access to a beach club, dive centre, cultural centre, kids club, as well as water sports facilities.

Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Asia & Australasia, Hilton, said: “As we continue to grow our portfolio across Asia, we are proud to introduce the Curio Collection by Hilton brand in one of the world’s most celebrated resort destinations. The Maldives remain a top choice for global travellers today and we are thrilled to be partnering with Singha Estate on this very exciting CROSSROADS project.

“With this brand, our owners can benefit from the proven track record and quality of the Hilton engine, also known as the Hilton performance advantage, while staying true to their hotel’s individuality.”

CROSSROADS span nine islands in the Emboodhoo Lagoon. It will have an array of dining, retail, entertainment, recreational and leisure-lifestyle offerings including a 50-berth marina. The resort is approximately 15-minutes away by speedboat to the Velana International Airport (Male International Airport) in the capital city of Male.

“CROSSROADS project, the first integrated leisure and entertainment resort in the Maldives, is a reflection to Singha Estate’s vision to be the premier lifestyle developer while delivering sustainable growth and creating value for all stakeholders,” said Naris Cheyklin, chief executive officer, Singha Estate Public Company Limited.

“We are delighted to partner with Hilton on this unique, integrated resort and look forward to seeing our exciting collaboration lift Singha Estate’s rapidly-growing hospitality portfolio to a new level.”

The Curio Collection Maldives resort will join close to 80 Hilton hotels open and under development across gateway cities and popular destinations across South East Asia.
