Delta Air Lines has announced new services from London Heathrow to Philadelphia will launch next year.

The carrier will start to operate the flights from 8 April on a daily basis and will be its eighth destination from the London airport.

Along with partner Virgin Atlantic there will be 39 daily flights to 16 destinations across the US when the service launches.

“We are almost one year into our joint venture with Virgin Atlantic and our commitment to improving connectivity between the United Kingdom and United States remains as strong as ever,” said Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s senior vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “By starting flights to Philadelphia, customers not only have more choice on this route, but it also offers greater access to the north eastern corner of the United States.”

The DL195 flight will depart Heathrow at 12.30 arriving in Philadelphia at 16.00 while the return leg leaves the US at 19.04 landing in London at 7.30 the next day.
