Delta Air Lines will increase frequencies on its nonstop transpacific service from Sydney to Los Angeles beginning 16 December 2022, just before Christmas.

Delta Air Lines plans to introduce ten Sydney-Los Angeles flights each week by the end of the year due to the increased demand between Australia and the United States.

Every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, the newly-launched flight DL42 will depart Sydney at 2:15 pm – compared to the 11:20 am departure of DL40 – and arrive in Los Angeles at 9 am the following day, ready for passengers to work a full day or catch a connecting flight.

The airline operates ten flights each week on flagship Airbus 350-900 planes fitted with Delta One suite, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Economy seating.

According to Delta, travellers can connect to nearly 50 cities in the United States and Latin America via LAX.

This month, Delta launches the first phase of the Delta Sky Way project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

It is a $2.3 billion collaborative initiative to improve passenger facilities and technology at the airline’s west coast hub.

Customers at LAX airport will be greeted on 20 April with a centralised check-in facility, expanded security checkpoints, and baggage claim.

There are 32 self-service kiosks and 46 check-in desks in the integrated check-in lobby.

Terminals 2 and 3 will be combined into a 111,484 square metres terminal facility with 27 gates when Delta SkyWay is completed in 2023.

Delta and the TSA are also adopting cutting-edge facial recognition technology to allow passengers to check their bags without lifting a finger.
