Hilton has opened its first DoubleTree hotel in Melbourne.

The new DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street marks a rebranding of the former Citigate Melbourne. It reopens following a comprehensive, multi-million dollar refurbishment.

“The addition of DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street to our fast-growing global portfolio underscores our brand’s commitment to delivering our upscale, full-service hotel offering in all key markets and gateway cities around the world,” said John Greenleaf, global head of DoubleTree by Hilton.

“We are proud to mark our brand’s entry into Melbourne with this stylish and centrally-located hotel, and we look forward to delighting guests with the award-winning service culture.”

Located opposite Flinders Street Station, the new DoubleTree offers 180 rooms, all with HDTVs and high-speed Wi-Fi. There is also a lobby bar with an open fire, a restaurant with an open kitchen, plus two meeting rooms accommodating up to 140 people. The hotel also operates 24-hour fitness and business centres.

The new hotel joins the existing Hilton Melbourne South Wharf and Hilton on the Park Melbourne hotels in the city.
