Dream Cruises, the new high-end Asian cruise line being launched by Genting Hong Kong, has unveiled the details of its first ever voyages.

Due to set sail in April 2017 aboard the brand new Genting Dream cruise ship, the inaugural itinerary will take passengers on a five-night voyage from Guangzhou to two destinations in Japan: Naha and Miyakojima in Okinawa. These sailings will run throughout the 2017 summer season until late September, alongside a series of two-night weekend cruises to Hong Kong.

Dream Cruises will be the sister brand to Star Cruises.

“We are delighted to introduce Genting Dream’s first summer schedule featuring Japan, which continues to grow rapidly in popularity as a cruise destination,” said Thatcher Brown, president of Dream Cruises. “We listened to our travel partners and our prospective guests; Japan was a top destination request with its distinctive natural environments, cultural offerings and reputation for quality cruise excursion products.

Currently under construction, Genting Dream will be able to accommodate 3,400 guests in 1,674 rooms. Designed specifically for the Asian market, the ship will feature more than 100 connecting rooms catering for families and groups.

Onboard facilities will include 35 restaurants and bars, including Chinese and Japanese options, a Zouk nightclub with karaoke rooms and the world’s first Johnnie Walker whiskey bar on a cruise ship, plus a large Asian reflexology spa, extensive duty-free areas, a casino, a water park with six slides, a rope course and rock climbing wall.

Genting Dream will initially homeport at Guangzhou’s Nansha Port in the Pearl River Delta.
