Dusit International has signed an agreement that will see the launch of its contemporary D2 brand in Phuket.
Located in the main resort area of Patong, the dusitD2 Phuket Resort will feature 390 rooms and suites, plus a range of facilities including a Hard Rock Café. Other offerings include a rooftop bar, outdoor pool and a spa with nine treatment rooms.
“We start the New Year with great momentum from 2013. That our first hotel opening in 2014 is from our ‘next generation’ dusitD2 brand – and in Phuket, Thailand, no less – makes a very strong statement for us as a company. We have the utmost faith that Thailand will continue to prosper and we warmly welcome the dusitD2 Phuket Resort to the Dusit family,” said Dusit’s managing director & CEO, Chanin Donavanik.
The hotel is currently known as the Destination Patong Hotel & Spa, but is scheduled to be rebranded as a dusitD2 in April 2014.
It will join Dusit’s existing portfolio of D2 properties in Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Changzhou, although the Thai hotelier has firm plans to expand the brand to destinations in Kenya, India and the US in the coming months.
