EasyJet has launched direct flights from Budapest to Lyon.
The thrice-weekly service to France’s third-largest city is being operated from the airline’s hub at Budapest Airport.
The low-cost carrier’s new link faces no competition, and means the potential of an extra 40,000 passengers for Budapest.
Commenting on the significant development, Kam Jandu, CCO, Budapest Airport said: “Last year we recorded an indirect traffic flow of 20,000 passengers to Lyon, a steady year-on-year increase which more than demonstrated the vast potential for both business and leisure travellers on this route. Our dedicated promotion of this prospective market has come to fruition and we look forward to welcoming easyJet’s passengers on this important link.”
