European Travel Commission seals technology deal

The European Travel Commission (ETC) has signed a strategic partnership with Amadeus to promote Europe as a tourism destination.
The firm will drive technology behind the ‘Destination Europe 2020’ strategy from the ETC and European Commission, including a new VisitEurope app due in November.
The pair will also work on join research initiatives and arrange seminars and educational programmes.
“We are glad to work together with key industry representatives who share with us our common goal of promoting Destination Europe. I am convinced that this partnership will help us to safeguard Europe’s position as top travel destination with proper knowledge gathering and sharing and skilfully bringing together private and public efforts,” said Peter de Wilde, president of ETC.
