EVA selects Amadeus solution
EVA Air has selected the Amadeus Altéa solution to manage its international passenger loads.
The airline signed an agreement with Amadeus in the wake of its acceptance into the Star Alliance, for which Amadeus is the preferred IT platform provider.
The long-term agreement with Amadeus will bring EVA and its subsidiary, UNI Airways, on to a common IT platform already used by 64% of the Star Alliance members.
At the partnership ceremony, Austin Cheng, Executive Vice President of EVA’s Project Division said; “This new long-term IT agreement is testament to our continued strategy to strengthen EVA Airways’ service enhancement and expand our global customer base. Amadeus is the leading IT solutions provider for the global airline industry, and as the favoured partner for the Star Alliance its Altéa suite was the obvious choice to enhance our end-to-end customer experience.
“By tailoring the solutions to meet our specific needs, we are confident that the change in IT platform will allow us to further expand our quality-focused service network, drawing on cutting edge technology to power our business forward while maintaining our uniquely personalised EVA Airways touch that we have become famous for,” added Cheng.
The full solution roll-out, scheduled for completion in 2013, will include a series of streamlined passenger service solutions including inventory, reservations, fare quote and ticketing, passenger check-in and departure control capabilities, and business process alignment; ensuring the airline has even greater co-operation within the alliance, enabling a seamless customer experience between members.
EVA will also become the first Taiwanese carrier to use the Altéa Revenue Management system.
David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific commented; “EVA Airways will join a growing group of over 140 forward-thinking airlines that recognise the flexibility and customer centricity that Amadeus’ state-of-the art technology brings to their operations.
“Firmly placed at the forefront of airline technology provision in the Asia Pacific market, Amadeus is in a strong position to support the growing Chinese and broader Asian aviation and travel industry,” he added.
