Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has expanded its fingerprint abilities by now allowing more Facebook functions with the technology.
The hotel, which has been at the forefront of tying social media and touchpoints with guests, will allow its visitors to check in, share photos and update their status through ‘registering’ their fingerprint with cameras throughout the hotel which take photos and link them to their Facebook account if wanted.
Once linked once various totems around the hotel will be able to read the print to upload future updates. The technology is already used for payment in the resort.
“The combination of these two interactive platforms, which have already worked well independently over the last two years, consolidates Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel as an innovative and pioneering property in hospitality technology, not only in Spain but also on a global level. We hope to be able to incorporate other social networks in the near future,” said Alfonso Giménez, associate director of marketing at owners Palladium Hotel Group.
