Flybe launched its 2016/17 Winter Schedule from Cornwall Airport Newquay over the weekend, offering three routes including a new service to Leeds Bradford and made possible through the Government’s Regional Air Connectivity Fund (RACF).

To mark the new regional connection, the Eden Project took part in a floral exchange with RHS Garden Harlow Carr whose representative travelled to Newquay on the inaugural flight to present a white rose to represent Yorkshire. In return, they received a white camellia aptly named ‘China Clay’ to take back home. Each tourist attraction will display the plants at their respective attractions.

Aviation Minister Lord Ahmad said: “It is fantastic to see Flybe launch this new direct air service between Leeds Bradford and Newquay. Passengers and businesses will benefit from faster journeys, while trade and tourism opportunities will be opened up in Yorkshire and Cornwall. By supporting new regional air routes, the Government is driving investment and boosting growth across the whole of the UK.”

The new route to Leeds Bradford, that offers three flights a week, joins Flybe’s existing winter services to London Gatwick and Manchester, together totalling a choice of up to 29 flights a week for travel through to 25th March 2017. One way fares are from £24.99 including taxes and charges.
