Garuda, Accor sign global partnership
Garuda Indonesia and Accor have formed a new global partnership.
Following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), penned in Jakarta last week by Garuda’s President Director Emirsyah Satar and the President Director of Accor Asia Pacific Corporation (AAPC) Indonesia, Gerard Guillouet, the two companies will now join forces on a range of initiatives covering all global markets in which both Garuda and Accor operate.
Garuda passengers who stay at Accor hotels will receive a range of discounts and benefits, including 10% off flight tickets and hotel rates. A new mirco-site, accorhotels.com/garuda, has been set up for this purpose.
In addition, the partnership also includes a special rate at Accor hotels worldwide for Garuda Frequent Flyer (GFF) members, while guests will be able to earn and redeem miles for Accor hotel stays.
Garuda employees will also be offered special rates at Accor hotels.
Emirsyah Satar said that the partnership formed part of the Garuda’s efforts to become a “global player” in the airline industry.
“Referring to business transformation programme that has been executed, Garuda intensively continues the synergy with international institutions to develop its market. We thank Accor Group because the partnership will not only bring benefits to both Garuda Indonesia’s and Accor’s customers but also will increase Garuda’s market share in the international market,” Satar said.
Gerard Guillouet added; “Garuda Indonesia is Accor’s valued partner who has been collaborating with us for years. Therefore, we are very pleased to continue the strategic collaboration with Garuda Indonesia, not only for loyalty programmes, but also to develop stronger corporate partnership.
“One of the important elements on this new collaboration is Accor’s commitment to guarantee that hotel accommodation will always be available for Garuda Indonesia’s crew and passengers within Accor hotels network,” he added.
Another part of the MoU will see Garuda and Accor collaborate in a range of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, and joint promotions on each other’s website and distribution channels.
Under Garuda’s ‘Quantum Leap’ programme, the airline plans to boost its fleet from 105 aircraft at the end of 2012 to 194 by 2015, as well as launching a range of new routes including destinations in Europe.
