Garuda Indonesia has continued its Chinese expansion strategy with the launch of a new direct flight between Bali and Guangzhou.
The new service commenced on Sunday 22 November and will now operate three times a week. Flights will depart Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 2345, arriving in Guangzhou at 0500. The return service will then leave the Chinese city’s Baiyun International Airport every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 0615, arriving back in Denpasar at 1200.
Garuda will serve the route using a 162-seat, two-class Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
“The Denpasar-Guangzhou service is part of the airline’s network expansion strategy, especially to China. China is a very important market for Garuda Indonesia and the airline will continue to develop services to this country,” said Garuda’s director of services, Nicodemus P. Lampe.
Following the launch, Garuda now operates 24 weekly flights to mainland China, including daily services on the Jakarta-Shanghai and Jakarta-Guangzhou routes, four weekly flights between Jakarta and Beijing, and three weekly flights on the Bali-Beijing and Bali-Guangzhou routes.
Chinese passengers will also be offered connections to other Indonesian destinations, including Yogyakarta, Makassar, Manado and Labuan Bajo.
