The number of UK tourists visiting Geneva last year rose 2.9% compared to 2015, the city’s tourism authority has revealed.
The result makes the UK the city’s top inbound market, according to Geneva Tourism.
Leisure visitors in particular rose, in part due to Geneva Tourism’s offers and packages, it said.
An expanding calendar of activities – including the International Motor Show, Geneva Marathon and SIHH watch festival – as well as popularity of museum’s and exhibitions such as the Mamco, also attracted visitors.
The city was also named Europe’s Leading City Break Destination in the World Travel Awards for 2015 and 2016.
