Greenwich Peninsula Golf Driving Range, a new state-of-the-art 60-bay golf driving range on the banks of the Thames, has opened its doors to the public.
Offering an experience and vista like no other in central London, the range invites anyone from the aspiring and occasional to the most seasoned of golfers to pitch up and perfect their swing, with prices starting from as little as £6 for a bucket of 60 balls.
Boasting 300 yards of river frontage and directly overlooking Canary Wharf and The O2, the centre comes equipped with eight PGA qualified professionals on hand seven days a week, a new fine dining restaurant, Vinothec Compass, and a 3000sq ft specialist sports outlet, A1 Golf Store.
The range also offers flight technology and entertaining areas at each bay, while its position, just five minutes from North Greenwich Underground station on the Jubilee Line, makes it accessible to all Londoners and visitors. The centre’s restaurant, Vinothec Compass, offers a casual fine dining experience, including hundreds of different wines, a Thames view terrace and wine school.
Created as a joint venture between Knight Dragon Developments and N1Golf, Greenwich Peninsula Golf Range is one of Europe’s most ambitious new golf projects. A fully serviced N1 Academy at the range provides full time PGA Professionals for lessons and advice, and also works with schools and youth centres in the area to bring golfing culture, traditionally the preserve of out-of-town courses, to central London.
Richard Margree, chief executive of Knight Dragon, said: “As part of our creation of a dynamic new district for London, we are delighted to be providing an exciting sporting and dining destination and look forward to welcoming golfers and non-golfers alike.”
