Hainan Airlines will launch the first ever direct flight from Changsha to the US next month.
Commencing on 21 January 2016, the airline will fly non-stop from the capital of Hunan province to Los Angeles, using its 213-seat, two-class Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Los Angeles will become Hainan Airlines’ fifth US destination, following Seattle, Chicago, Boston and San Jose.
The new trans-Pacific flights will depart Changsha’s Huanghua International Airport every Monday and Thursday at 1300, arriving at Los Angeles International Airport at 1035. The return flight will then take off from LAX at 1235 on the same days, getting back into Changsha at 1920 the following evening.
The route will become only the second long-haul route from Changsha, following China Southern Airlines’ existing flights to Frankfurt.
