Air Canada has announced its services from Heathrow to St John’s will operate year-round from October this year.
The route will operate three times a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 26 October throughout the year, providing access to the Newfoundland and Labrador regions.
Heathrow will serve as the route’s hub for connecting flights into Europe and the Middle East, while expecting to generate a tourism boost for the Canadian areas.
Flights will operate using a newly-refurbished 120-seat Airbus A319 in a two-cabin configuration.
“The London Heathrow service is strategically very important for the continued growth of our region and our province, and we are delighted that Air Canada has committed to extend the service year-round. Offering this service outside of the peak travel summer season will accommodate the growing demand for international business travel from our Airport,” said Keith Collins, president and CEO of St. John’s International Airport Authority.
