Hilton Worldwide has opened its first ever hotel in Xiamen, a city of approximately 3.5 million people in southeast China’s Fujian province.
The new DoubleTree by Hilton Xiamen Wuyuan Bay overlooks Jinmen Harbor and is within walking distance of the Wutong Passenger Port.
The upscale property offers 270 rooms and suites, plus Chinese, Japanese and international restaurants, a lobby lounge and roof garden. Other facilities include a fitness centre, heated indoor pool, a business centre and 1,400m² of event space, including seven meeting rooms and a large ballroom.
“We are committed to the China market and are proud to be growing our presence in key cities across the country,” said Bruce McKenzie, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations for Greater China & Mongolia.
“Xiamen is an increasingly affluent and sophisticated city that is an ideal location for the DoubleTree by Hilton Xiamen-Wuyuan Bay, the latest addition to our portfolio of 55 operating hotels across the Greater China and Mongolia region.”
Hilton now operates 20 DoubleTree hotels in key destinations across China, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Chongqing.
