Hilton Worldwide has opened its fourth hotel in Chongqing, the largest city in western China.
The new DoubleTree by Hilton Chongqing Nan’an welcomed its first guests on Monday (25 July 2016), located next to the Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Center and surrounded by offices, government buildings and shopping malls. It also lies just 300 metres from the Gongmao Metro Station, 11km from Chongqing Railway Station North and 26km from the city’s Jiangbei International Airport.
The upscale hotel features 237 rooms and suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows, plus Chinese and international restaurants with private dining rooms, a heated indoor pool, 24-hour fitness centre and 1,848m² of meeting space including six function rooms and three ballrooms.
The new hotel joins two other DoubleTree hotels and one Hilton-branded hotel in Chongqing – a vast city of more than 18 million people.
“DoubleTree by Hilton Chongqing Nan’an follows the success of DoubleTree by Hilton Chongqing Wanzhou and DoubleTree by Hilton Chongqing North, and strengthens our presence in southwestern China. DoubleTree by Hilton Chongqing Nan’an is a great addition to our portfolio, which now includes over 70 operating hotels and 200 hotels under development,” said Bruce McKenzie, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations, Greater China & Mongolia.
Hilton’s Chongqing portfolio will continue to expand in the coming years, with plans for three more hotels: Hilton Chongqing Resort & Spa China, Hilton Chongqing New North Zone and Hilton Chongqing Nanshan Resort & Spa.
