Hilton has continued its rapid Chinese expansion with the opening of its first hotel in Shiyan, one of the country’s main automotive hubs.
The new DoubleTree by Hilton Shiyan is located in Hubei province, central China, and becomes the first and only internationally-branded hotel in the city of Shiyan, which is home to more than three million people.
The upscale hotel offers 267 rooms, an executive lounge, five F&B outlets, a heated indoor pool, 24-hour fitness centre. It also features more than 1,200m² of meeting space covering seven function rooms and a ballroom, plus a 24-hour business centre and a bridal suite for weddings.
“DoubleTree by Hilton Shiyan reinforces our presence in central China. It is a strategic addition to our portfolio, which now includes more than 80 operating hotels and more than 230 pipeline hotels. We are continuing to grow across the country, in destinations that best serve our guests,” said Bruce McKenzie, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations for Greater China & Mongolia.
Sometimes labelled the “Detroit of China”, Shiyan is the home of Dongfeng, one of the country’s biggest bus and truck manufacturers.
