Hilton’s DoubleTree moves in western China

Hilton has continued to expand its DoubleTree brand in China, with the launch of its first ever property in the western province of Qinghai.

Located in the city of Golmud, a key stop on the Qinghai–Tibet Railway line, the DoubleTree by Hilton Qinghai-Golmud offers 112 rooms, all with free Wi-Fi and 37-inch LCD TVs with satellite channels.

As the first internationally-branded hotel in Golmud, guests will be offered a range of upscale facilities including an indoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness centre, two restaurants and a bar.

The hotel is also expected to be popular with the MICE market as it features more than 1,500m? of meeting and event space, including a ballroom, three meeting rooms and an outdoor courtyard. There is also a 24-hour business centre.

Located to the south of the city centre, Hilton says the new hotel will offer “easy access to attractions such as Chaerhan Salt Lake,Huyang Forest and the snow-covered Geladandong Peak.”
