Hong Kong Disneyland Resort arrived in Thailand on Friday, to showcase its new winter show to the country’s travel trade.

Demonstrating the importance of the Thai market to Hong Kong Disney, Bangkok was the first stop on its regional launch tour. And it also brought in two Thai celebrities, Chompoo and Cris, to help promote the event.

Held at Sofitel So Bangkok hotel, more than 100 trade and media guests were treated to a glimpse of the ‘Disney Paint the Night’ event spectacular, which debuted on 1 October 2014, and a preview of the ‘Disney Sparkling Christmas’, which features the stars of the Disney movie ‘Frozen’.

Queen Elsa and Princess Anna from Frozen were also present at the launch event.

“The geographical proximity of Hong Kong and Thailand, frequent air connectivity and stiff competition amongst carriers have driven down travel prices, making Hong Kong an ideal destination for Thai travellers,” said Larry Leung, director of travel trade sales for Hong Kong Disneyland.

He added that the resort is now developing customised travel products and offers, and collaborating with airlines, to further tap into the Thai market. A special Hong Kong Disneyland Resort package is available from November 2014 to March 2015, which includes a one-day ticket and one-night stay at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. Two-day ticket upgrades are also on offer.

For the travel trade, the Hong Kong Disneyland’s ‘Travel Industry Salute Promotion’ features special discounts on park tickets and hotel rooms.

“By bringing a glimpse of the magical experiences to the media and trade partners in Thailand, the resort hopes to work even more closely with its industry partners, and inspire them to develop more new products that will appeal to guests,” Mr Leung said.

The ‘Disney Sparkling Christmas’ celebrations will run from 13 November 2014 to 4 January 2015.
