Three of HNA Group’s Chinese carriers – Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines and Lucky Air – have teamed up to offer connecting flights through the city of Urumqi.
The partner airlines will now offer interline services from 30 cities outside Xinjiang, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Haikou, Xiamen and Changsha, to 13 cities within the western Chinese region, via Urumqi’s Diwopu International Airport.
These connections will offer onward flights to regional destinations including Aksu, Kanas, Kashgar, Yining, Korla, Karamay and Hotan.
Hainan Airlines mainly operates domestic trunk routes to key Chinese cities, while Tianjin Airlines has extensive regional network in northern China and Lucky Air mainly operates routes out of southwest China’s Yunnan province.
The new interline services will allow the three carriers’ passengers to check their luggage through to the final destination, and HNA will provide complimentary accommodation for passengers having to make an overnight stop in Urumqi.
