InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened a new Holiday Inn hotel in Japan.
The 101-room ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky is located in the centre of Kanazawa, a historical city in the west of Honshu Island.
On arrival, guests will be taken to the 16th floor lobby, which offers views of the city and such landmarks as the 400-year-old Kanazawa Castle and Hakusan Mountains.
Formerly known as the Kanazawa Sky Hotel, the property underwent a major refurbishment before reopening as a Holiday Inn, and all rooms now come equipped with flatscreen TVs, desk-level electrical sockets and Wi-Fi. The hotel also features three restaurants, including one specialising in Sichuan cuisine.
“Kanazawa is a city which is becoming increasingly accessible for leisure travellers and with the new Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train scheduled to start service in early 2015, we are confident that this trend will continue,” said Fergus Stewart, IHG’s head of Japan.
“We already have ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa so it is fantastic to add to and diversify our hotels in a city which is so full of potential.”
Through its partnership with ANA, IHG is now the largest international hotel operator in Japan.
