Hong Kong Disneyland Resort celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and has unveiled a series of new shows and attractions to mark the occasion.
These were revealed at the recent ‘Disney Travel Trade Summit’, which was held on 9-10 September and gathered almost 300 travel trade partners.
“This year marks the important 10th anniversary milestone for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort,” said Terruce Wang, the resort’s vice president of sales & distribution marketing. “Looking back on the success of the past decade, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude towards our travel trade partners for their unstinting support and trust, enabling us to evolve and diversify products that create memorable magical experiences for countless guests.
“We look forward to establishing an even stronger relationship to continue our magical journey together,” he added.
The resort is introducing a series of celebratory activities to mark its 10th anniversary, including ‘Mickey and the Wondrous Book’, a theatrical performance that launches on 17 November and will feature an original 10th anniversary theme song, ‘Happily Ever After’.
In addition to the new stage show, the resort will launch the ‘Disney in the Stars’ fireworks show in November, which includes a video projection shown on Sleeping Beauty Castle, and ‘Fairy Tale Forest’, which launches in December and includes characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and The Little Mermaid.
Special anniversary merchandise and F&B will also be on offer.
These new attractions will precede the launch of Hong Kong Disneyland’s new ‘Iron Man Experience’ in late 2016 and the opening of the Disney Explorers Lodge hotel in early 2017.
