Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has continued to expand with the unveiling of its third and largest hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge.

The new-build 750-room property, which will officially welcome its first guests on 30 April 2017, will join the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel at the theme park, taking the attraction’s total inventory to 1,750 rooms.

Disney Explorers Lodge is a themed hotel, with four gardens based on the cultures of Asia, South America, Africa and Oceania. These are also named after characters in Disney films, including Up, Finding Nemo, The Jungle Book and The Lion King.

And more than 1,000 artefacts from countries including Mali, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Bolivia and the Ivory Coast are displayed throughout the hotel.

“With its exotic theme and immersive storytelling, Disney Explorers Lodge will be an experience unlike any other in Hong Kong,” said Terruce Wang, vice president of sales & hotel operations at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “Together with the amazing attractions and entertainment in the theme park, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort offers more unique experiences than ever, making it a complete exotic getaway.”

Facilities at the Disney Explorers Lodge include three restaurants, including Chinese, international and cafe-style outlets, plus an outdoor pool overlooking the South China Sea and free Wi-Fi. Its large inventory of rooms and amenities will also support the theme park’s convention centre, allowing Hong Kong Disneyland to handle larger groups.

“The addition of the 750-room Disney Explorers Lodge… will greatly enhance the resort’s capability to accommodate more MICE business,” Wang noted.

The opening of the third hotel marks the latest stage in the expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland; already this year the attraction has opened its new Iron Man ride, with new areas dedicated to the Marvel characters and the popular movie Frozen due to open in the coming years.
