IGTO and El Al announce new Dublin route
Israel Government Tourism Office (IGTO) has announced the country’s national airline, El Al, will be officially launching a new direct route connecting Dublin to Tel Aviv on 26 May 2020. A direct scheduled flight from Dublin hasn’t been seen for almost two decades.
This new route will be offering three weekly nonstop flights from Dublin. The flights will operate on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday on a Boeing 737 aircraft with economy and business service classes. As Dublin is one of Europe’s hi-tech capitals, the new flight will encourage new business ventures between the two countries, especially with Tel Aviv’s own thriving tech scene.
Traditionally flights from Ireland to Israel served its main passengers who were visiting for a pilgrimage. Travel has changed a lot in the last two decades and in addition to the needs of the pilgrim market, the IGTO now has an exciting new campaign to reach out and connect with a wider travel market.
Sharon Bershadsky, director of the IGTO commented: “We’re excited to launch El Al’s three weekly nonstop flights from Dublin. This will be a great boost for business and leisure tourism to Israel and Dublin, offering direct flights between the two.”
