India has pitched for devising a system which can provide quick visa and airport facilities to disaster relief teams.

The proposal was put forward by Union Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde during an East Asia Summit (EAS) workshop on Building Regional Framework for Earthquake Risk Management. “A common understanding of procedures and protocol for the assistance would be valuable step forward. It should include a system whereby search and rescue teams should get visa and airport facilitation on an immediate basis,” Shine said while addressing the workshop as stated by the Times of India.
