The Indian Railways will boost train services during the upcoming festival season. More than 4,000 trips of special trains have been planned to handle the rush between October – November 2012. These special trains have been planned by Zonal Railway covering 35 different popular routes. If required, extra coaches will also be attached to regular trains.
The special trains will cover destinations like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Jammu Tavi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Patna, Chandigarh, Chennai, Raxaul, Muzaffarpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Dharbhanga, Puri, Indore and Secunderabad.
For smooth functioning of these special trains, the Zonal Railways and the Divisional Railways have made action plans for the convenience of the passengers. The department will conduct adequate publicity for these trains through local media. Checking squads will also be deployed at reservation office, while inspections will also be strengthened to prevent misuse of tickets.
