GoAir, the Indian low-cost carrier, has received permission to launch flights to several Asian countries.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) reports that the Mumbai-based airline has been given the green light to fly to China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
This follows the recent relaxation of rules governing which Indian carriers are allowed to operate international flights.
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO of GoAir, told PTI that he expects to commence international operations “from the next summer schedule”, which commences in late March 2017.
GoAir currently operates a fleet of 21 Airbus aircraft, including two brand new A320neos.
