Singapore will be home to at least the next three editions of ITB Asia, following a recent agreement signed between Messe Berlin and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

The extended deal has tied Asia’s largest travel trade show to the Lion City from 2017 to 2019, and will also see Singapore named as the event’s “official partner country” next year.

The next three editions of ITB Asia will take place from 25-27 October 2017, 17-19 October 2018 and 16-18 October 2019. All three events are expected to be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

“We share a common vision with Messe Berlin for ITB Asia, which is to create opportunities for the Asia Pacific travel trade industry to collaborate and grow,” said Melissa Ow, the STB’s deputy chief executive. “ITB Asia has grown well since its inaugural show in 2008, delivering strong content and memorable experiences for delegates over the past nine years. We look forward to working with Messe Berlin to further entrench it as the leading travel tradeshow in the Asia Pacific region.”

Dr Martin Buck, senior vice president of Messe Berlin, said that visitors to the next three editions of ITB Asia could expect a new ‘Corporate Travel Day’ and ‘Hotel Day’, along with a full day of conference programmes.

Next year will mark the 10th ITB Asia and the event has been held in Singapore since its first edition in 2008. This year’s ITB Asia, which took place last month, gathered 10,876 attendees, 846 exhibitors and 895 buyers.
