Japan Airlines has significantly expanded its network in the US, following the signing of a major new codeshare agreement with JetBlue Airways.
From 30 March 2014, the Japanese national carrier will offer double daily services on its Tokyo Narita-New York JFK route, with the new second daily flight scheduled to arrive at JFK in the early evening. Connecting with this new service, JAL will now place its ‘JL’ code on JetBlue’s flights from JFK to Burlington, Buffalo, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Orlando, Portland, Raleigh/Durham and Rochester.
In addition, JAL has also secured more codeshare flights from two other US gateways: San Francisco and Boston. Also from 30 March, JAL passengers will be able to book JetBlue’s flights from San Francisco to Long Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Austin, and from Boston to Houston and Detroit. The Boston-San Francisco route will also be included in the codeshare.
JAL initially launched its codeshare with JetBlue in April 2012.
