More than 200,000 visitors from the UK and Ireland visited Jamaica in 2015, setting a new record for inbound tourism from the two countries.

The Jamaica Tourist Board revealed the total number reached 201,364 arrivals to the island, marking an increase of 12.2% from the previous year which saw 179,433 arrivals. The figures do not include cruise visitors.

With the launch of a new direct flight route from Dublin to Montego Bay later this summer, visitor numbers from the region look set to increase even further for 2016.
