Japanese low-cost carrier Peach is planning to launch direct flights between Okinawa and Hong Kong.
Commencing on 21 February 2015, the Osaka-based airline will operate four weekly services between Okinawa’s Naha Airport and
Hong Kong International Airport, every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Like all Peach flights, it will be operated using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
“I am very pleased that we are able to open a route between Okinawa and Hong Kong,” Peach’s representative director & CEO, Shinichi Inoue.
“This will be our second international route from Naha Airport, following our Okinawa to Taipei route which began services in September 2013. The commencement of services on this Hong Kong route also brings expectations of expanded inbound traffic from various Asian countries focusing on Hong Kong and its neighbouring areas.
“We will continue to expand our business, particularly for international routes, with Okinawa Airport as a hub and make continuous efforts to contribute to the achievement of the 10 million tourists that Okinawa prefecture is aiming to bring in by 2021,” he added.
The Okinawa-Hong Kong route will become the seventh international route for Peach, which is a subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA).
