Jet Airways has introduced a new booking feature that allows customers to hold their selected fare for a limited period before purchasing it at a later date.
The new ‘Fare Lock’ option applies to flights across the Jet Airways network and is available on the airline’s website and mobile apps. Once a guest selects the Fare Lock option, they will need to pay a nominal fee of INR350 (approx. US$5.20) for a domestic ticket and INR700 for an international ticket, to retain the available fare.
They can then return to the online booking platform within 72 hours to complete the purchase via the Manage Booking feature.
“The launch of FareLock demonstrates Jet Airways’ continued commitment to the ‘Guest First’ philosophy,” said Gaurang Shetty, Jet’s senior vice president of commercial.
“This unique feature allows guests to have greater flexibility in planning their travel while locking fares in advance of the actual purchase. It will transform the way guests book tickets using our online platforms. With the introduction of FareLock, Jet Airways has yet again raised the industry benchmark for customer experience.”
Jet becomes the first Indian carrier to allow passengers to preserve their fares for booking at a later date.
