Jet Airways has launched a new initiative that will provide passengers with fare offers and flight information via Twitter.
The new #JetInstant service will make Jet the first Indian carrier to offer real-time information to customers via the micro-blogging site.
“Innovation has always been a key feature in Jet Airways’ operating philosophy and #JetInstant is another pioneering customer driven initiative,” said Cramer Ball, Jet’s CEO.
“By using digital and social media platforms, we will empower our guests with information that can help them plan their travel more efficiently and enhance their overall experience with Jet Airways.”
Arvinder Gujral, director of business development for Twitter in India & Southeast Asia, said his company “encourages innovation on our platform”. “This is a first for us in the field of aviation in India and we congratulate Jet Airways for their creative use of Twitter,” he added.
To use #JetInstant, Twitter users will need to follow the official Jet Airways Twitter account @jetairways. They can then Tweet ‘@jetairways fltstatus <Flight No> <Departure Date in DDMM format>’for flight status updates, or ‘@jetairways lofares <Origin> <Destination> <Departure Date in DDMM format> <Return Date in DDMM format>’ for the latest fares.
