Jet Airways is now offering travellers the chance to pre-select their seats.

Under the new “Seat Select” initiative, passengers can pay to reserve their chosen seats on all domestic and certain international routes at the time of booking.

Seat selection is available for passengers booking online, via Jet’s mobile app, and those booking through a travel agent. And the seats can be selected retrospectively, through the ‘Manage Booking’ facility on jetairways.com and the app.

“Jet Airways constantly explores new opportunities for enhancing the experience of our guests at all stages of their travel with us. The Seat Select option provides Jet Airways guests another means to plan their travel as per their choice with greater ease and convenience. We are confident that this latest initiative from Jet Airways will prove to be extremely popular with our guests,” said  Gaurang Shetty, Jet’s senior vice president of commercial.

The Seat Select feature is applicable for window, aisle and middle seats from rows 11 to 15 and for exit row 24 of the economy cabin. At present, the service is only available on flights operated by a Boeing 737 aircraft. The charge is INR500 (US$7.70) for domestic routes and INR800 (US$12.30) for international.
