Bangkok-based Jet Asia Airways has taken a major step forward in its expansion efforts, with the deployment of a new IT system to manage its operations.
The Thai carrier has installed the full Amadeus Altéa Suite, which offers reservation, inventory and departure control capabilities. The move comes as Jet Asia launches a new network of scheduled passenger services connecting Thailand with North Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
“We are delighted to hit this critical milestone for Jet Asia,” said Jacob Saba, president of Jet Asia. “As we continue to evolve our business model, having the right technology partner is key to ensuring that we are set up for success. With Amadeus’ strong track record working with airlines in Asia Pacific, we are excited to have partnered with them to drive our business forward.
“As a small but fast growing airline, we were delighted at the speed and agility extended by the Amadeus implementation team to enable us to implement their leading edge technology in a record timeframe. The Altéa system will be central to Jet Asia’s future growth and success,” Saba added.
The Amadeus Altéa Suite is used by more than 120 airlines globally. It will enable Jet Asia to broaden its distribution channels and enter new international markets and customer segments, such as online and GDS bookings.
“This implementation is only the first step in the journey and we are excited and honoured to support Jet Asia Airways as they transform their business,” said Hazem Hussein, vice president of airline commercial at Amadeus Asia Pacific.
“We are committed to providing our expertise to support their goals in delivering their vision and strategy for the future, and are confident that our next-generation technology will deliver the flexibility, responsiveness and scalability required for success.”
