Jetstar will expand its operations at Melbourne’s Avalon Airport next year, with the launch of flights to Hobart and Adelaide.
The new service to Adelaide will commence on 27 March 2016, operating three times a week, while the Hobart route will launch on 28 March with four weekly flights.
This will boost Jetstar’s network from Melbourne’s second airport to four destinations, following the recent launch of flights to Sydney and the Gold Coast.
“In less than a year we will have expanded from a single route to Sydney to offer local travellers direct flights to four major Australian cities,” said Jetstar’s CEO for Australia and New Zealand, David Hall.
“Adelaide and Hobart offer some of the country’s best tourism experiences and we’re confident the convenient mid-morning departures will appeal to travellers from Geelong and western Melbourne.
“We were overwhelmed by the community support for our Gold Coast services earlier this year, and we’re looking forward to a similarly positive customer response to these new flights to Hobart and Adelaide,” he added.
Avalon Airport is located 50km southwest of downtown Melbourne and close to the city of Geelong.
