Jetstar expands Chinese booking options

Jetstar has expanded its sales and booking options in China.

The low-cost carrier is now selling its fares on China’s state-run GDS, TravelSky, and via Ctrip.com, the country’s largest online travel agency. The move follows the addition of the China Union Pay and Alipay credit cards as payment options for customers bookings via Jetstar.com.

“Working with our travel industry partners to ensure our low fares are easy to access for consumers is a key priority as we look to strengthen our presence on routes to-and-from China,” said Jetstar’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, David Koczkar.

Jetstar currently flies to nine destinations in Greater China, and is planning to launch a new Hong Kong-based subsidiary in 2013, as part of a joint venture with China Eastern Airlines.
