Jetstar Japan, which launched its first ever Southeast Asian route from Tokyo to Manila last month, has now commenced flights linking the Philippine capital with Nagoya.
The new Nagoya-Manila service took off for the first time on 2 April and will now operate daily. Flights depart Nagoya’s Chubu International Airport at 2030 and arrive in Manila at 2335. The return service will then leave the Philippine capital at 0045 and arrive back in Nagoya at 0535.
The route will be served using a 180-seat, all-economy class Airbus A320 aircraft.
“Nagoya is home to the largest number of Filipinos in Japan and this service will be welcome news for family and friends of Filipinos who will now be able to travel and visit more often,” explained Masaru Kataoka, chairman of Jetstar Japan. “Our flight timings will also offer Filipino travellers more time at their destination and the benefit of extending their visit from morning to night.
“Our bookings have been very encouraging since we announced that seats were on sale and we are confident that our entry to the market will grow overall passenger numbers in both directions. We anticipate a boost to the tourism industry in both cities as the new service will attract new travellers to explore more of Nagoya,” he added.
Jetstar Japan launched its first flights from Tokyo Narita to Manila, and from 7 April the airline will start flying from Osaka to Manila.
