Jetstar has launched its first flights to Sanya, one of China’s most popular beach resorts.
The inaugural flight departed from Singapore this week, marking the start of a new twice weekly service.
Flights will now leave Changi Airport every Tuesday and Saturday at 0700 and arrive in Sanya at 0950. The return services then leave at 1145 and land back in Singapore at 1355.
“Our first flights from Singapore to Sanya are operating close to 90% load factor and we are encouraged by our customers and our travel partners’ reception to our flight,” said Jetstar Asia’s CEO, Barathan Pasupathi. “As the only low fares airline flying this route direct, visitors and leisure travellers from Singapore will be able to take advantage of more low fares options to Hainan.”
Combined with the airline’s four weekly flights to Haikou, Jetstar now offers a total of six weekly flights between Singapore and Hainan, the Chinese island province. All services are operated using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
