Khiri Group rebrands as Yaana Ventures

Khiri Group, the Bangkok-based travel company, has been rebranded as Yaana Ventures.
The move was announced by the company’s CEO, Willem Niemeijer, on the eve of ITB Berlin. The name “Yaana” derives from the Sanskrit name for “journey”.
Khiri Travel, the destination management company founded by Niemeijer in 1993, will retain its original name, and the Yaana Ventures brand will now cover the group’s expanded portfolio, including GROUND, an educational travel brand, the Anurak Community Lodge in southern Thailand, and the Banteay Chhmar tented camp in Cambodia.
Niemeijer said that all the brands under the Yaana umbrella would share the same traits, which he described as “real experiences, impassioned discovery, a human touch, and empowered ownership”.
“All Yaana Ventures share the same people-planet-profit commitment,” Niemeijer explained. “Yaana will empower its entrepreneurs with the freedom to innovate, while providing background leadership and resources for them to thrive. Three decades of experience in the industry make us ideal partners for like-minded ventures.”
Yaana Ventures will be officially unveiled at ITB Berlin, where Niemeijer will be joined by Khiri Travel’s new CEO Richard Brouwer and Khiri Travel Myanmar’s general manager, Edwin Briels. The company will be exhibiting at Stand 203 in Hall 26B.
“Yaana welcomes investors and individuals who share a unique passion for travel, and are seeking a dedicated partner that brings their venture to life in a meaningful, efficient, and sustainable manner,” said Yaana Ventures’ chief financial officer, Mark Remijan.
