KLM to unveil new flights to India as it steps up to fill Jet’s slots

The carrier will launch Amsterdam-Bengaluru flights from October this year

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be expanding its network to include Bengaluru. The airline will launch a thrice-weekly direct service from Amsterdam to Bengaluru from 31 October. These flights will be operated by the Boeing 787-9 (Dreamliner) equipment with a seating capacity of 294 and will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

According to the release, this operation from Bengaluru will open up more opportunities for travel from India with easy connections to Europe and North America via Amsterdam Schiphol. The flight KL0879 will depart from Bengaluru at 0245 and will arrive at 0825 Schiphol. Similarly, Flight KL0879 will depart from Schiphol at 1105 and will arrive at Bengaluru the following day at 0050.

Besides this, from 2 September, KLM will add one additional frequency between Mumbai and Amsterdam. This will be the fourth frequency on this route.

This will be followed by the fifth frequency, effective September 30. From October 28, Mumbai-Amsterdam will be flown daily. This route will also be served by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The flights between Delhi and Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol will be operated as usual. Consequently, KLM from this winter will increase capacity from Mumbai and Bengaluru routes.
