LAN and TAM Airlines have announced 300 extra international flights to Brazil this summer to cope with demand for the World Cup.
The UK is amongst one of the countries that will see an increase in flights to Brazil over the summer, while TAM has added more than 750 new domestic flights within Brazil to support the games around the country.
The airlines have submitted approval for the services and also hopes to operate up to 201 international charter flights during the event.
Around seven million seats within Brazil will be available from the airlines during the event, with 50% of them priced under GBP150 and 30% selling for less than GBP60.
Claudia Sender, CEO of TAM Airlines said: “Our operation will be highly focused on the logistical challenge of crisscrossing a continent-sized country day and night and operating flights that are synchronised with the World Cup match schedule. We will offer connectivity and transport a large share of the fans from around the world and we are fully committed to the success of the event. The new network is necessary and these plans have been in progress since last year.”
