VENESSA KOO has become senior vice president of development & technical services for the Regent Hotels Group. She returns to the hotel group, having worked at the Regent Taipei in the 1990s. Most recently she was vice president of development for AccorHotels for Southeast and Northeast Asia.
VISHAL SINHA has been appointed as Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s new chief executive officer for India. Based at CWT India’s head office in Gurgaon, he takes over from Geeta Jain, who has moved into a global role with CWT. Most recently, Sinha was chief operating officer of TUI India.
STEFAN MOLNAR has been named as Lufthansa Group’s new general manager of sales for Thailand, Vietnam and the Mekong region. He succeeds Dirk Grossmann who has moved to Moscow as GM of sales for Russia. Molnar, who is now based in Bangkok, brings 18 years’ experience to the role.
TANE PICKEN has been appointed general manager of Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, Singapore. He brings over 16 years of hotel experience to the role, having working in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. A South African national he was previously GM of the Hotel Jen Penang.
PHILIP DEWAR has assumed the position of general manager at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong. He has previously worked at hotels groups and private clubs in many Asian countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and China. Most recently he was GM of Shangri-La Hotel Guangzhou.
SIOBHAN BURKE has been announced as Destination NSW’s new regional manager for the UK & Europe. The move marks a promotion for Ms Burke, who has spent the last two years as the state tourist board’s marketing executive for the UK and Germany. She will assume the new role on 4 July.
