Several lucky travel consultants had the chance to meet David Beckham recently, courtesy of Air New Zealand.
The airline ran a competition in partnership with Travel Daily, offering agents a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the English football legend face-to-face. More than 800 travel consultants entered and lucky winners from Lotus, The Appointment Group and Carrier were selected.
They met the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star at The HMV Football Extravaganza, an annual fundraising event attended by the biggest names in football, where Beckham was awarded the ‘Legend of Football Award’.
The winners even managed to sneak in a few selfies and autographs with the man himself!
The event was a charity fundraiser for Nordoff Robbins, which provides music therapy to autistic children, and a whopping GBP514,000 (US$789,000) was raised.
Air New Zealand and Viceroy Hotel Santa Monica also partnered for an auction prize with the chance to meet the LA Galaxy team – this went for an amazing GBP12,000.
