Lucky Air has become the latest airline to confirm that it will move to Chengdu’s new airport when it opens in 2020.

While its home base is in Kunming, Lucky Air has operated from Chengdu since 2014 and currently connects the Sichuan capital with 13 Chinese cities and one international destination – Koh Samui.

Lucky Air is also planning to launch long-haul flights from Chengdu in future, including Boeing 787 Dreamliner services to Paris, Rome, Dubai, Los Angeles and Sydney.

Air China, Sichuan Airlines and China Eastern Airlines have already committed to Chengdu’s new Tianfu International Airport, which will eventually have a capacity of approximately 80 million passengers per year.
