Lucky Air, which is based in the southwest China’s Yunnan province, is planning to launch the first ever direct flights between Taipei and the UNESCO-listed city of Lijiang.
Commencing on 22 February, the airline will operate three weekly direct flights on the route, with services departing Lijiang’s Sanyi International Airport every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0840 and arriving at Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport at 1230.
The return flight will then leave Taipei at 1340 and get back into Lijiang at 1735. All flights will be operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft.
This route will be served exclusively by Lucky Air, and it becomes the Chinese carrier’s second Taiwanese service, following Kunming-Taichung.
Lijiang, which dates back more than 800 years, is famous for its cobbled streets, streams and traditional architecture.
